What we do
Wordle Helper turns the colors from your game into useful information: how many words still fit, which letters are worth testing, and which guess will narrow things down the most. Hints are revealed one at a time, so you decide how much help you get.
How it works
Everything runs in your browser. When you enter a guess, the helper checks it against a dictionary of 8,608 five-letter words, keeps only those that would produce the same colors, and scores possible next guesses by their expected information. Words are ranked using how frequently they appear in everyday English, because puzzle answers are usually familiar words.
Data sources
- Word list: the public-domain ENABLE dictionary, plus a few modern words it predates, such as email and emoji.
- Word frequencies: wordfreq by Robyn Speer, used under CC BY-SA 4.0.
We do not use or publish the official puzzle answer list, and the helper never looks up the day's answer.
